Songs
After Otacon gives you passwords in the Shadow Moses level, ignore them. Enter "78925" and "13462" to get two new songs for Snake's iPod. The rest of the songs are unlocked from the Passwords screen. Enter "thomas" to get a song called "Desperate Chase" and "george" to get a song called "Gekko." Type "theodore" to get the "Midnight Shadow" song and "abraham" to get the "Mobs Alive" song. Enter "mgo2play" to get a song called "Subsistence Action."
Weapons
Enter "mekakorkkk" from the Passwords screen to get the Mk. 23 handgun and "jmsotsynrn" to get the Type 17 pistol. Type "1aytmmymhk" to get the 1911 pistol and "pkhhnwhsjt" to get the Patriot gun. Enter "mnsoymsyhn" to get the Mosin Nagant gun and "tshsniammr" to unlock the Thor .45-70 gun. Type in "deskyhstyl" to get the Desert Eagle Long Barrel shotgun and "skynytktjp" to get the Scanning Plug S gun.
Extra Items
A new selection of vests and a suit are unlocked once you beat the story campaign the first time. Snake can wear an Altair costume once you enter "aottrykmyn" from the Password screen. Type in "dntkkhktmm" to get face camouflage for Drebin's character. You also get more items if your PlayStation 3 system has a save file from other games in the series. During the first level, look for a character named Metal Gear II. Talk to him and your inventory will include all of the things you had in previous "Metal Gear Solid" games.
Gameplay Cheats
Before visiting Drebin to buy weapons or ammunition, make sure your PlayStation 3 console shows that it is a Wednesday or Sunday. If you do this, Drebin will reduce his asking price. Tap the "L1" button instead of holding it and you can toss a grenade underhand for more precision. Hit the "X" button repeatedly if Snake's psyche meter is low going into a cinema scene.
