Wired
Connect the router to your modem with an Ethernet cable. Run the cable from the "Out" port on the modem to the "In" port on the back of the router.
Run the second Ethernet cable from the "Out" port on the router to the networking port on the back of your PlayStation 3.
Turn on the PS3 and select "Settings" on the home menu. Click "Network Settings."
Hit "Internet Connection Settings," then choose "Easy."
Save your settings when the configuration is complete. You should now be connected to the PlayStation Network.
Wireless
Run an Ethernet cable from the "Out" port on your modem to the "In" port of the wireless router.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for setting up the wireless network on your PC. These will usually include setting a password and naming the network, and are included with your router.
Turn on your PS3 system and navigate to the "Settings" menu.
Select "Network Settings" and choose "Internet Connection Settings."
Click "Yes" and select "Easy." Choose "Wireless" and hit the option that says, "Scan."
Choose "Automatic" if the option is available, otherwise move through the process of highlighting your network, entering its information and adding the password. You should have set all of these details during the initial setup of the router on your PC.
Save your network settings to activate the connection.
