How to Fast-Forward on Netflix on a PS3

Netflix members with a Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) game console have unlimited access to movies and TV shows available in the Watch Instantly streaming video library. All you will need to do is install the free Netflix application from the PlayStation Store and log in to your account to get access to the videos. However, because these videos are downloading in real time to your PS3, fast-forwarding to a future point in the video is troublesome. However, you can skip to a specific part of the movie through the Netflix player, which is similar to a standard fast-forward button.

  Turn on your PS3 console.

  Open the Netflix application. You can find it by selecting the "Videos" link on the main menu, then selecting "Netflix" using your PS3 controller.

  Select the movie or TV show you want to watch using your PS3 controller.

  Wait for the video to finish loading.

  Press the "right" button on the directional pad of your PS3 game controller. A selection of thumbnail images will appear. Each image represents a selectable time of the video you have selected.

  Continue pressing the "right" button on the controller to scroll through the thumbnail images. Select the approximate time where you want to fast-forward.

  Press the "X" button on your PS3 controller once you have selected the thumbnail representing the approximate time where you want to fast-forward. The Netflix player will begin loading the video stream from that point in the video.
