How to Upload Pictures to Your PS3

In addition to playing games and movies on the PlayStation 3, the PS3 can also display digital photos. With the PlayStation 3's high-definition video outputs, uploading and displaying pictures with the PS3 is an easy way to show off your high-resolution photos on a large television display. While the are a number of media you can use, the process for uploading and displaying photos is the same for each.

      Save your photos to an external storage device in a PS3-compatible format. In order to upload your picture to the PS3, the file should be in JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP or PNG format.

      Turn on the PS3.

      Connect your external storage device to one of the USB ports on the front face of the PS3. If you've saved your pictures to a CD, DVD or Blu-Ray, insert the disc into the front-loading disc slot.

      From the PS3 home page, scroll left to the camera icon that reads "Photos."

      Scroll down to select your media device and press the triangle button.

      Select "Display All" and press the "X" button. A list of your displayable images will appear with thumbnail-sized previews, along with any image-specific folders.

      Highlight the image you want to upload and press the triangle button. Select "copy" from the pop-up menu, then choose "PlayStation 3" as the destination. This will save the image to the PlayStation 3 hard drive for later access. Repeat this for all images you wish to upload.
