How to Use a Logitech Gamepad for PS3

If you're using a third-party controller for the PS3, such as a Logitech, you have to install it correctly. If you're using a basic Logitech controller that connects to the PS3 via a cable, you probably won't have any problem; you simply need to connect the USB plug into the PS3. If you're using a wireless Logitech controller, you'll need to put batteries in it, connect the USB receiver and connect the controller to the receiver.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the controller over so the battery cover is facing you. Place your thumbs on the cover and press down to remove. Put two AA batteries in the controller. Make sure the top battery's negative side is facing the left, and the bottom battery's negative charge is facing the right.

Replace the cover. Connect the USB receiver into an available USB slot on your PS3.

Turn on the PlayStation 3. Turn on your controller by pressing the "PS" button. The indicator light on the controller should turn green and then turn off. It should turn green again when you press a button. If it does not, press the "Detect" button on the USB receiver.
