How to Find Guns in Yakuza 3

Combat in the "Yakuza" game series has always focused on hand-to-hand martial arts fighting, with a secondary focus on swordplay and a tertiary focus on guns. Unlike many popular games, "Yakuza 3" does not provide the player with a regular supply of ammunition and a wide selection of firearms. Though the guns in the game are not widely available or easy to find, they can be effective against large groups of enemies, or against particularly tough bosses. The combat's priority, however, is on hand-to-hand combat, and both experts and developers encourage use of the "Heat" move system over gunplay.

Instructions

  Locate a "contact" NPC (non-player character) in the environment. After chapter 4, certain NPCs will, when spoken to, give you a password and take you to a gun dealer's van.

  Access a gun dealer's van. The white vans are scattered throughout the world of "Yakuza 3," and will carry small selections of guns available for purchase, though they are extremely expensive.

  Check the bodies of enemy henchmen. After certain combat scenarios, the bodies of defeated enemy henchmen will contain guns that can be taken by the player.

  Examine lockers in chapters 2 and 3. Certain lockers will contain shotguns and handguns.
