How to Suspend a PSN Account

The PlayStation Network is the online gaming service from Sony for the PlayStation 3. To connect to the PlayStation Network, you were forced to create a PlayStation Network account. If you no longer wish to use the PlayStation Network or you wish to create a new account but delete the already existing one, you can do so to an extent. You cannot outright delete a PlayStation Network account, but you can ask customer service to suspend the account so no one will be able to access it.

  Call Sony Entertainment customer service at 1-877-971-7669. Press "1" to select the PlayStation 3 as the console you're calling about.

  Press "2" on your phone to select account questions.

  Press "4" for account deactivation questions. Wait until the automated operator finishes. You will be connected to a customer service agent. Tell the agent that you'd like to suspend your account. The agent will likely ask you for a reason, but you do not need to give an answer. Provide the agent with any identifying information that he asks for, including your PlayStation Network username.
