Learn the multiplayer maps, each of which contains a distinct layout that includes hiding spots, elevated positions of advantage, long lines of fire and vehicles and barrels that can explode. If you want to win free-for-all matches, click on the Private Match gametype in the multiplayer menu, select the map you want to learn, enter the game by yourself and run around the map until you have learned all of its features.
Activate "Spy Plane" as one of your killstreak choices. Having a spy plane in the air will let you know the location of every player on the map that isn't using "Ghost" as one of their perks, giving you a huge advantage over these players by letting you sneak up on them. This killstreak only requires three kills to earn, and if you get killed you can quickly achieve another spy plane.
Set "Sleight of Hand" as your Tier 2 Perk and "Ninja" as your Tier 3 Perk. "Sleight of Hand" will give you faster aim and reload speed, giving you a greater advantage in one-on-one gun fights while "Ninja," and the pro version of "Ninja," will quiet your footsteps when running and make enemy footsteps louder. Choose a Tier 1 Perk to suit your playing style; "Scavenger" works best for those who run out of ammo quickly while "Ghost" prevents an enemy spy plane from revealing your location.
Equip your character with the AK-47u submachine gun or any of the assault rifles. These weapons deliver the most bang for your buck in the multiplayer by killing opponents with three or fewer bullets. Other weapons, such as the tomahawk, crossbow or sniper rifles might offer a more fun experience, but do not let you rack up kills quickly and easily.
Keep your back to the outlines of the map, or against walls when inside buildings, which prevents enemies from sneaking up on you from behind.
Give the enemy the smallest profile to shoot at. Every map provides plenty of cover to hide behind which can protect you from getting hit when firing upon enemy players. In the absence of cover, crouch or go prone to reduce your exposure to enemy fire.
Outflank the enemy before firing. If you see an enemy player, don't engage him in an one-on-one gunfight. Protect yourself by shooting at enemies from behind, the sides or from an elevated position that makes it much more difficult for them to return fire before you have killed them.
Check for enemies before crossing open space or sprinting around a corner. The easiest way to get killed in a free-for-all match is to run straight out into the open, where every player can outflank you and every camper can pick you off. When going around a corner or into a room, throw a flashbang or stun grenade to neutralize any hidden enemies or claymore mines.
Seek out and outflank enemy players in order to rack up the 30 kills needed to win the game. Play aggressively within the confines of the various strategies. Campers and overly defensive players may get easy kills by hiding in wait for opponents, but they won't get enough kills to win the match.
