How to Use an XBox HD Drive With a Playstation 3

The Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 have numerous similarities, including how powerful their hardware is, that they can play online games and that they offer digital games for sale. Additionally, they both are capable of reading from external hard disk drive, or HDD. In fact, you can even take an external hard drive used for your Xbox 360 and use it on your PlayStation 3.

      Attach the external hard drive to your computer via any available USB port.

      Click "Show Files" when prompted, which will cause an error to appear, asking whether or not to format. Click "Format."

      Select "FAT32" from the drop-down menu and click "Format." Wait for the hard drive to format before removing it from your computer.

      Insert the external HDD into the USB port of your PlayStation 3, located on the front of the console. It will begin working automatically.
