How to Import Music From iTunes to a PS3

PlayStation 3 gaming consoles can store numerous types of data to the console's internal hard drive. For instance, you can add your iTunes music, allowing you to listen to your computer's music library while playing games. In order to import your iTunes music, you must transfer the songs to your iPod then use the iPod as an intermediary device for importing all of your music.

      Hook up the iPod to your computer.

      Open iTunes.

      Select the iPod under "Source."

      Open the "Music" tab.

      Select "Sync Music."

      Select "Apply." Your iTunes music loads onto your iPod.

      Disconnect the iPod from your computer when the sync completes by clicking the "Eject" button next to your iPod under "Source."

      Hook up the iPod to your PS3 with the iPod's USB cable.

      Turn on the PS3 without a game inserted in the system's disc drive. The XMB opens.

      Scroll to "Music" in the PS3's XMB.

      Scroll down and highlight "USB Device (iPod)."

      Press the triangle button, rather than "X," and choose "Display All." Many folders appear.

      Choose "iPod_Controls."

      Highlight "Music" and press the triangle button.

      Select "Copy."
