How to Get to the In-Game Cheat Menu on a PlayStation 3

Many Sony PlayStation 3 video games have cheat menus. Once you are inside this menu, which is usually in the options menu, you insert a passcode to unlock different characters, modes and more. Not all games have a cheat menu though, so look into your game's manual before attempting to add a cheat this way. Other games like "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09" have cheat menus, but they are not in the options menu. As always, consult your manual.

  Find the cheat codes that you want to add to your game.

  Press the "power" button on the front of the PlayStation 3.

  Insert the game of your choice in the Sony PlayStation 3.

  Select the game by moving the analog stick to the left until you come to the "Game" category.

  Move down until you come to the game. Press "X" to open it.

  Find the cheat menu. In some games, you go into the "Options" menu and find the section called "Cheats." Other games have different areas to input cheats. "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09," for example, has a different menu: you select "My Tiger '09," go to "EA SPORTS Extras" and choose "Password."
