How to Hook Up a Playstation 3 to a Receiver

The best way to take advantage of your PlayStation 3's audio capabilities is to hook the console up to your surround sound system's receiver. The PS3 includes an optical digital output, designed to relay your video game system's audio to your stereo. The setup process does not end, however, when you connect the console to your receiver. You must also modify the PS3's audio settings.
