Turn on your PS3. Scroll over to "Settings" and then down to "Network Settings."
Click "Internet Connection Settings." A screen will pop up and warn you that you will be disconnected from the Internet if you are connected. Click "Yes." The "Internet Connection Settings" screen will appear.
Choose "Easy." Click "Wireless" when asked for your connection type. When the next screen appears, you will see either two or three options. Click "Automatic" if the option is available and skip to Step 7. Otherwise, select "Scan."
Log on to the computer the router is connected to. Click the "Up" arrow in the Windows taskbar, near the bottom right corner of the screen. Click the connection bar icon. Right-click the network you are connected to.
Click "Properties." Click the "Connection" tab and write down the number or name next to "SSID." Click the "Security" tab. Write down the security type, if any.
Click the SSID number or name on your PS3's screen that correlates with your router's SSID number or name.The security setting will appear. Select the type of security your router has.
Enter a password for your router, if necessary.
Click "Save." Select "Test Connection." The PS3 will confirm whether or not it can connect to the Internet. If the test was unsuccessful, recheck your settings.
