Save the data you wish to transfer to a USB flash drive. Connect a USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer. Click the "Start" menu and select "Devices and Printers." Right-click your USB device in the list of available drivers. Click "Browse Files" to open the flash drive folder.
Drag the file you wish to transfer to the flash drive folder. Disconnect the flash drive by clicking the small up arrow in the Windows system tray. Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon and select your USB device from the list of devices. Remove the flash drive from your computer. You also can save data from another PlayStation 3 by inserting a USB device, finding a file you wish to copy and pressing the "Triangle" button on your controller. Select "Copy" and then select your USB flash drive.
Turn on your PS3. Connect the flash drive to your PS3.
Scroll over to the type of data you wish to transfer. For example, if you're transferring music, scroll over to "Music." Scroll down to "USB." Move left or right with the analog stick on the PlayStation 3 main menu to access "Music" or other types of data. If you do not see "USB," press the "Triangle" button on your PlayStation 3 controller and click "Display all." You should now see your USB device.
Highlight the file you want to transfer. Press the "Triangle" button on your PS3 controller. Select "Copy." The PS3 will notify you when the transfer is complete. Do not disconnect the USB device until the transfer process is complete.
