Things You'll Need
Instructions
Make sure that wireless router is on.
Enter the PlayStation 3 system menu and select "System Update."
Scroll down to and select "Network Settings."
Select "Internet Connection" and change it to "Enabled."
Enter "Internet Connection Settings." If prompted that continuing will disrupt the current Internet connection, select "Yes."
Choose "Easy." Select "Wireless" connection method and then "Scan." The PS3 will automatically detect wireless connections within range. Select your router when it appears on the screen.
Select the correct security type; the PS3 automatically highlights the suggested option. Enter your network key (if you don't know it, it can usually be found on the router itself). Choose the highlighted response for the next several options and "Do Not Use" for proxy server until a review screen comes on. Double-check the information and press "X."
Test the connection. Once the test is complete highlight the "Media Server Connection" and select "Enable" -- this allows the PS3 to use a browser and other online media.
