How to Connect a PlayStation 3 Wirelessly

With the exception of the power cable and the way you connect your unit to your TV, all other aspects of the PlayStation 3 home video game console are wireless. This includes the use of wireless game controllers and remote controllers, wireless headsets and even the console's ability to add itself to your home wireless network through the console's menu system.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3. If any game discs are inserted into the console, press the "Eject" button on the front of the PS3 to remove them and load the main menu.

    • 2

Highlight the "Settings" option. The default selected icon when you first view the menu will be "Users" on the far left. The "Settings" option is one icon to the right of "Users."

    • 3

      Select "Network Settings."

    • 4

Open "Internet Connection." Select "Enabled." This enables your PS3's Internet connection. Your PlayStation 3 will immediately begin trying to connect to the wireless network in your home. If prompted, enter your wireless network's password. Your PlayStation 3 is now connected wirelessly.
