How to Switch a PlayStation 3 From HDMI

The Sony PlayStation 3 supports both SD (standard definition) and HD (high definition) resolution connections. For standard-definition setups, use the red, white and yellow composite AV cables with the PS3 console. For high-definition setups, users can choose between HDMI or component video connections. Both HDMI and component video cables are sold separately. Connect your PS3 to an SD or HD component connection to switch from HDMI.

  Disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV and PS3.

  Insert the connector of the AV cable or component AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" slot on the back panel of the PS3 console.

  Insert the red and white audio plugs of the cable into the red and white audio ports of your TV. If you are using a regular AV cable, insert the yellow plug into the yellow "Video" port on the TV. If you are using a component cable, insert the blue, red and green video plugs into the blue, red and green component video ports of your TV.
