How to Change a PS3 Account

Your PlayStation Network account is your online identity to the console's multiplayer service. Consequently, the account holds a lot of important information, such as your name, billing data and even Facebook profile. Unlike the Xbox 360, the PS3 allows you to change all of your account's information right on the console rather than having to manage data through your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Start up your PS3 without a game in the disc drive. The XrossMediaBar, otherwise referred to as the "XMB," opens.

    • 2

Log into your PlayStation Network account.

    • 3

Choose "PlayStation Network" from the XMB.

    • 4

Go to "Account Management" from the "PlayStation Network" Menu. Various account options appear.

    • 5

Choose one of six options from the account management page: "Account Information," Sub Account Management," "Redeem Codes," "Transaction Management," "System Activation" and "Facebook." See Tips for descriptions of each menu.

    • 6

Change your desired account's settings in the resulting menu.
