Call Sony customer service and explain the problem. The customer service representative will require the console's serial and model number, purchase date and personal email. The Sony representative requires your billing information if the warranty expired.
Download the "Consumer Service Product Service Guide" Sony sends as an email attachment and print the document. Complete the required information.
Remove all power chords and game disc, if possible, from the console before shipping it in a box Sony provides. The box will include a shipping label.
Place the "Consumer Service Product Service Guide" in the box. Seal the box properly and ship it from the local post office. Sony either will repair the console or provide a refurbished console as a replacement in a few weeks.
