How to Turn on the Sixaxis Wireless Controller

When the Playstation 3 was first released, it launched with the Sixaxis controller. Unlike the DualShock controllers before it, the Sixaxis did not include the vibration feature and was much bulkier. The most notable feature of the Sixaxis is its motion detection, which can be used to simulate in-game effects (such as swinging a bat) in real life. As with all PS3 peripherals, the Sixaxis must be paired with the PS3 before it will work.

     Turn on the PS3.

     Use the included USB cable to connect the Sixaxis controller to either USB port on the front of the PS3.

     Press the "PS" button on the center of the controller. The lights will flash. When one light stabilizes, the controller has been turned on. You can disconnect the USB cable and use the Sixaxis with the PS3 wirelessly.
