How to Find Monsters in Final Fantasy X

As in many role-playing games, combat is the backbone of "Final Fantasy X." By finding and slaying monsters, you gain gold and experience, which you can then use to level up your characters and purchase better equipment. At the same time, monsters are the main challenge in the game. You'll need to be strong enough to deal with each one, and you must devise effective strategies to overcome their strengths and exploit their weaknesses. Finding monsters is one of the easiest things to do in the game, because monsters are trying to find you.

  Prepare your characters for combat. If you're in a town, purchase weapons, armor and restorative items. These will aid you in your battle against the monsters. Without them, you can easily be defeated.

  Exit peaceful areas, such as towns or the aircraft Fahrenheit. You will not find monsters in these locations, except during special plot-related events. Monsters are restricted to the wilds of Spira, such as forests, roads and caverns.

  Wander around the wilds until you encounter a monster. You will not be able to see them and pursue them. Walk around until one finds you. Remain in constant motion. They will not attack while you're standing still.
