How to Download From Media Player to a PlayStation 3

The Sony PlayStation 3 can play files from a computer using Windows Media Player. The file will be temporarily downloaded, or streamed, from the computer to the PlayStation 3. In order to do this, you must have an Internet connection, preferably a high-speed connection.

      Go to "Settings" on the PlayStation 3's main menu.

      Open Windows Media Player on the computer. Click the "Library" tab. Select "Media Sharing." Check the box beside "Share Media."

      Find the PlayStation 3 in the media list. Choose "Allow" by the PS3 and click "OK."

      Go to the right category on the PlayStation 3's menu for the file you want to play. To play an audio file, choose "Music." To play a video file, choose "Video." To see images, choose "Photo."
