Instructions
Turn on the PlayStation 3 and use the controller to access the "Settings" menu section. Scroll down the list to "Network Settings" and press "X." In the new menu, select "Internet Connection Settings."
Select "Yes" to the confirmation screen saying you are disconnected from the Internet. A series of questions will follow. Select "Easy" connection setup and then "Wireless" for connection type.
Select "Scan" to scan for access points in your area, and select your own from the resulting list. Check the back of your router for the SSID number to make sure. Some models of the PlayStation 3 give you the option of entering an SSID manually by typing it in with the on-screen keyboard if you wish.
Select the security setting that matches your router. For example, if your router has a WEP key security, select "WEP." If there is no security on your network, select none.
Type in the encryption key code that matches your security settings with the on-screen keyboard. This will appear in stars on the screen. Select "Save settings" to complete.
Test the network by selecting "Test Settings" from the next menu. If there are further problems, check the settings of your router on a nearby computer. If all access points are taken, disconnect another wireless device to free a space and try again.
