How to Use Netflix on PlayStation 3 with No Disk

In additional to its gaming capabilities, the PlayStation 3 (PS3) can stream video from Netflix. When the Netflix application was introduced, users needed disks to access Netflix content. In October 2010, however, a new stand-alone Netflix client was released for the PS3. This client requires no disk and features a more user-friendly interface.

Instructions

  Use the directional pad on the PS3 controller to navigate to the "Video" or "What's New" icon on the XMB (PS3 main menu).

  Scroll down, highlight the "Netflix" thumbnail and press the X button.

  Highlight "Yes" and press the X button when you are asked if you want to download the Netflix client. After the Netflix client has downloaded, access it from the "Video" icon.

  Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the email address and password that are associated with your Netflix account. Highlight the movie or television show that you want to watch and press the X button to begin playback. Use the R2 and L2 buttons or the left analog stick to fast forward and rewind. Press the O button to return to the Netflix menu.
