PS3 Bluetooth Headset Directions

The Playstation 3 (PS3) supports most Bluetooth headsets for voice chat in any games or applications that support incoming and outgoing voice. Any Bluetooth headset that requires its own proprietary drivers or software is not guaranteed to work with the PS3. As with all wireless PS3 devices, you must pair a Bluetooth headset with the PS3 before it will work. After pairing the headset, you must assign the headset as the primary microphone and audio device for the PS3.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the left and right buttons on the directional pad to scroll the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu. Use the up and down buttons on the directional pad to navigate sub-menus. Press the "X" button to select "Accessory Settings." Select "Manage Bluetooth Devices."

    • 2

Place your Bluetooth headset in its pairing/scanning mode. Select "Register New Device." The PS3 begins scanning for the headset. When the name of your headset appears on screen, press the "X" button. Enter the pass key as listed on the headset or in the headset's documentation and press the "X" button. The headset is now paired with the PS3. Press the "O" button repeatedly until you're back on the "Settings" menu.

    • 3

Select "Accessory Settings." Select "Audio Device" settings.

    • 4

Select "Input Device" and select your headset as the microphone. The PS3 automatically assigns the headset as the output device. Speak into the microphone to test the headset. Select "Microphone Level" and press the "X" button to adjust the volume.
