Instructions
Verify that the "Guitar Hero" PlayStation 3 drum kit USB dongle has been inserted into the USB port on the front of your PlayStation 3. This dongle is the device that allows the drum kit to communicate with your console, and it came in the box with all of your "Guitar Hero" equipment. If this dongle isn't inserted into the front of your PlayStation 3, your drum kit won't be able to synchronize with the console.
Check to make sure you've enabled the drum part for the song that you're playing. When you select a song in "Guitar Hero," not all parts are enabled by default. During the "Player Selection" screen, you have to add the drum part to the song for it to be enabled. If the drum part of the song is not enabled, using the drum kit controller during a song will provide no response to the game that is being played on screen.
Pair your "Guitar Hero" drum kit to your PlayStation 3 again. Both devices need to be wirelessly paired in order for the drums to be used in the game. Turn on your PlayStation 3 and load the "Guitar Hero" game via its game disc. Press the circular "PS" logo buttons on both the main drum kit as well as on its USB dongle. The indicator lights on the drum kit will come on, indicating that it has been paired to the system. You can now attempt to play your game again.
