How to Use the Guitar for Rock Band 2

"Rock Band 2" is the second-most recent entry in the "Rock Band" franchise of rhythm/music games. In the game, you can use a guitar, drum set or microphone to play along to parts of popular songs. The "Rock Band 2" guitar retains the characteristics of those in the previous games. If "Rock Band 2" is your first experience with the rhythm genre, you can learn the controls.

Instructions

  Push the strum bar up and down to highlight different options on the main menu screen, and press the green button to choose them. To cancel a choice, press the red button.

  Push a colored button during a song to select a note to play, corresponding to the note charts coming down the screen.

  Strum the strum bar while holding down the appropriate colored buttons when the notes reach the line at the bottom of the screen. Strum and press the green button for green, red for red, following that pattern.

  Play solos by tapping the corresponding solo button higher on the neck without using the strum bar.

  Wiggle the tremolo bar, or whammy bar, on prolonged notes to increase your Overdrive meter. The Overdrive meter enables you to bring back a failed band member by tilting the guitar neck up.
