Things You'll Need
Instructions
Look at the back of your PlayStation 3 to determine what kind of video cables you used to hook it up. If only a single cable is used, you use HDMI and will need an HDMI-to-VGA adapter. If three cables are used (red, blue and green), you use component cables and will need a Component-to-VGA adapter.
Unplug your video cable from your television set (if applicable). Only unplug the end connected to your TV, not the end connected to your PlayStation 3.
Connect your PlayStation 3's video cable(s) to the input end of the VGA adapter. If you're using a HDMI-to-VGA adapter, there will only be one plug on the input end of the adapter for the HDMI cable to go. If you're using a Composite-to-VGA adapter, match up the colors on the cables with the appropriate plugs on the input end of the adapter.
Connect the other end of your VGA adapter to the VGA input on your monitor. Your PlayStation 3 will now be hooked up to your computer monitor.
