How to Stop Subtitles on the PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3 game console comes with decoders that allow you to play several media formats. To control these videos the PlayStation 3 console has a media-control panel that is accessible through the "XrossMediaBar" (XMB) menu. If someone has enabled the viewing of subtitles on the PlayStation 3, all videos that contain subtitles will display them. You can access and disable the subtitle feature through the control panel.

     Press the "Start" button on the PS3 controller to pause your video.

     Press the "Triangle" button. This displays an options menu.

     Select "Subtitle Options" and press the "X" button.

     Select "Subtitles" and press the "X" button to change the option to "Off."

     Press the "Start" button to play your video.
