How to Make a Memory Card for PS2

The PlayStation 3 was released in 2006. Early PlayStation 3 models released at launch included backwards compatibility with all of your PlayStation 2 games. However, they did not include a slot for your PlayStation 2 memory cards. Using the PlayStation 3, you can create a virtual memory card that you can use to save your PS2 games if you own a backwards compatible PlayStation 3.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the "Game" menu on the PlayStation 3's main menu.

    • 2

Select "Memory Card Utility" from the "Game" menu.

    • 3

Select "Create New Internal Memory Card."

    • 4

      Select "Internal Memory Card (PS2)."

    • 5

Enter a name for your virtual PS2 memory card. There is no limitations on the name you may enter.

    • 6

      Select "OK."
