Instructions for the Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is primarily a video game console, but it also has many other useful features, including the ability to watch videos, listen to music and connect to the Internet. Additionally, the PS3 also features Bluetooth capabilities, which allows PS3 owners to pair Bluetooth devices with their consoles. This feature can be particularly useful when playing online multiplayer video games that may require a headset for communication. The PS3 permits the pairing of headsets to the console, such as the official PS3 Bluetooth headset, manufactured by Sony.

  Turn on your PlayStation 3.

  Use the left and right arrows on your PS3 controller to scroll to the "Settings" menu.

  Press the up and down arrows on the PS3 controller to select the "Accessory Settings" option.

  Use the up and down arrows to select the "Register Bluetooth Device" option.

  Select the "Register Headset" option.

  Press the button on the side of the official PS3 Bluetooth headset to put it into "Pairing" mode.

  Select the "Start Scanning" option on your PlayStation 3. Once the headset has been discovered, enter "0000" as the pairing key when prompted.

  Return to the "Accessory Settings" menu and select the "Audio Device Settings" option.

  Verify that your headset is listed as the input/output device. If not, select it from the menu. Adjust the volume settings to your liking, then begin using your headset.
