How to Transfer Music & Video to PS3

The Sony Playstation 3 gaming console comes with a built-in hard drive that allows you to upload media content in addition to playing video games. When you upload music and videos to your gaming console, you can share them with family and friends --- or play anytime you want. Using a portable storage device, transfer your favorite music and videos from your computer to your PS3 using these guidelines.

  Plug a USB flash drive into an open USB port on your computer. Double-click "Computer" on the desktop and locate your flash drive in the "Drives" section. If you are using a Mac, locate your flash drive on the desktop. Double-click it.

  Drag music and videos from your computer to the flash drive's window. Close the window when you finish and click the "Safely remove hardware" icon on the taskbar. When the hardware window launches, click your flash drive's icon and click "Stop." When prompted, unplug your flash drive from your computer.

  Plug your flash drive into the USB port on your PS3. Select "USB Device (Storage Device)" and click "Display all." The Music, Videos folders are displays. Select any of the folders to display your saved files.

  Select the music or videos you want to add to your PS3's hard drive and press the triangle button. Select "Copy." The files are copied to your gaming console.
