How to Make My Movies Work on My PlayStation 3

In addition to playing video games, Sony's PlayStation 3 can play both Blu-ray and DVD discs. These include discs purchased in stores as well as burned movies that you have created with your computer. When you insert a disc into the console while the unit is on, the movie isn't going to automatically start playing as it would in a regular DVD or Blu-ray player. You need to select a special menu command to get movies to work on your PlayStation 3.

     Turn on your PlayStation 3.

     Insert your DVD or Blu-ray disc into your PlayStation 3.

     Select "Video" from the PlayStation 3 menu.

     Highlight the name of the disc you inserted into your PlayStation 3 from the "Video" menu. Press "X." Your movie disc will now begin to play on your game console.
