How to Download Free Music on a PS3

Video game consoles have come a long way since the days of cartridges and five-channel music. With Internet access and internal hard drives, 2010-generation video game consoles, such as the PlayStation 3, can have music directly downloaded onto the system for use through the console itself and even while playing certain games. The procedure doesn't require a keyboard, but entering in specific text information may be faster with a PlayStation-compatible keyboard and mouse than the game controller.

Things You'll Need

  • PlayStation 3
  • PlayStation 3 controller
  • Wi-Fi or other Internet connection
  • PlayStation 3 compatible keyboard and mouse (optional)
