How to Hook Up My Playstation 3 in High Definition

The Playstation 3 is an HD (High Definition)-compatible gaming console designed by Sony Corporation. With two built-in connection methods that support HD signal transmission, every PS3 owner has more than one option when it comes to connecting it to their HDTV. For a stereo audio and 1080i video signal, hook up your PS3 using the component AV connection. To get a fully HD signal with Dolby Digital surround sound audio and 1080p video, hook up your PS3 using the HDMI connection.

Insert the "AV multi" end of your component AV cable into the "AV MULTI OUT" port on the back of your PS3 to transmit an HD 1080i video signal and a stereo audio signal. Connect the other ends of the cable into the proper ports in the "Component in" and "L/R Audio in" connections on your HDTV.
