Things You'll Need
Instructions
Power down your PS3 console and turn it back on again. This may be enough to get your console and controller to recognize each other. If the controller still fails to connect to your PS3, you will need to reset the controller.
Flip your PS3 controller over so you are looking at the back of it. There are six holes on the back of the controller, five of which are screw holes and one of which houses the reset button. The reset button appears on the upper right-hand side of back of the controller, just to the left of the L2 button.
Use an unfolded paper clip or similarly sized item to push in the reset button. Hold the button down for a couple of seconds and release it.
Connect the PS3 controller to your PS3 with a mini-B USB cable. Press the "PS" button in the center of the PS3 to pair it with your console. Disconnect the two devices when the lights on the controller stop flashing and a single light stays lit.
