Highlight the center icon on the fighter select screen and press "A" or "X." Choose 1P or 2P (player one or player two), and press "A" or "X" again. Choose your character's gender and fighting style. For Venom, pick "Male." You will be taken to a screen with six tabs; this is the character creation screen.
Go to the "Model Appearance" tab and press "A" or "X." On this screen you can change Venom's physical and vocal attributes from minus-50 to 50. Choose the options you like and press "A" or "X." Choose some undergarments for Venom (these will only be seen if his costume is ripped during a fight) and press "A" or "X."
Stay on the "Model Appearance" screen. Go to the hairstyle selector, choose no hair and press "A" or "X." Go to the face selector, choose a face without facial hair and press "A" or "X." Go to the outerwear selector. Choose all-black outerwear, including face mask, gloves and shoes, and press "A" or "X" with each choice.
Stay on the "Model Appearance" screen. Go to the "Torso" tab, and then to "Designs." Press "A" or "X." Here you will find shapes that you can assemble into Venom's logo. Each shape can be aligned horizontally or vertically. Go to the color selector, pick white, and press "A" or "X." Go to the "Face" tab and press "A" or "X." Choose white for Venom's eyes and press "A" or "X."
Press "B" to go back to the character creation screen. Go to the "Weapons" tab. Here you can equip Venom with customizable weapons and with any skills you have acquired. Press "A" or "X" after each choice.
Press "B" to go back to the character creation screen. Go to the "System" tab. On this screen you can choose a backdrop, test-play your Venom, undo any mistakes, change Venom's pose and save all your changes.
