How to Use a Second Wireless Controller for PS3

The PlayStation 3 allows you to connect up to seven controllers simultaneously. Each controller must be paired to the PS3, one at a time. The pairing process is the same for SIXXAXIS and Dual Shock 3 controllers. The second controller can be used to navigate the PS3 menu or in games and applications that support multiple controllers.

Instructions

      Connect the small end of the USB cable into the front of the PS3 controller. Connect the large end of the USB cable into a USB port on the PS3.

      Press the "PS" button on the controller. The lights on the top of the controller will flash.

      Wait for the lights to stabilize. When the lights stop, the pairing process is complete. Light number two will be lit, indicating the controller has been assigned as the second controller.
