How to Use an RCA Connector to Hook a PS3 to a Monitor

The Playstation 3 (PS3) is a games console created by Sony. In order to view your console, it needs to be connected to an output source--the most common source used is a TV, but it can also be routed to a computer monitor. The most common monitor connection is VGA, so an RCA to VGA adapter would be needed to establish the connection.

  • RCA to VGA adapter
  • Playstation RCA AV cable
  • VGA cable

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect the AV end of the RCA AV cable to the back of your PS3 console.

    • 2

      Connect the RCA end to the RCA to VGA adapter. RCA cables must be connected to the corresponding colors.

      Connect one end of the VGA cable to the RCA to VGA adapter. Connect the other end to the computer monitor.

    • 4

      Connect the monitor to a power source. Turn on both the monitor and the PS3.
