How to Connect a PS3's HDMI

The Playstation 3 (PS3) is a high definition gaming console that can play 3D games and Blu-ray video. Although the PS3 doesn't include an HDMI cable, you can use any standard HDMI with the console to get the best high definition connection available for the PS3. The HDMI port transmits an uncompressed audio and video signal through one cable. Most HDTVs include at least one HDMI input.

  Turn off the PS3. Disconnect any previous video connection (such as standard AV). Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port on the back of the PS3. Plug the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI" port on your HDTV.

  Set your HDTV to its "HDMI" video display mode.

  Turn on the PS3. After a few seconds, the PS3 logo appears on screen. The PS3 automatically detects the HDMI connection and asks you if you want to set the most optimal settings for your HDTV. Press "Yes."
