How to Turn on a Motion Sensor Sixaxis Controller

A unique feature of the PlayStation 3's Sixaxis controller is its motion-sensing technology, which allows players to steer a vehicle or control their characters' movements without the need to press buttons. However, in order to use your Sixaxis controller, you will first need to sync it with your PS3 console. Failure to do so will result in your controller displaying a series of four blinking lights and refusing to turn on. Use the included USB cable to sync.

     Turn your PlayStation 3 on.

     Plug the USB cable into the USB slot on the top of the Sixaxis controller. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the first USB slot on the PlayStation 3 console.

     Press and hold the "PlayStation" button in the center of your controller. This button is clear and has the PlayStation logo imprinted on it. Your controller will now turn on and will function with your PlayStation 3 console.
