How to Activate a System for My PSP

Remote Play is a feature that allows PlayStation 3 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) owners to sync a Sony PSP to a PlayStation 3 console in order to access it remotely. Using Remote Play, it's possible to play games and view content stored on the PlayStation 3's hard drive wirelessly through the PSP. In order to take advantage of Remote Play, users must first activate the PlayStation 3 so it recognizes the PSP console.

Instructions

      Connect your PlayStation 3 and PSP using the USB cable included with your PlayStation 3. Plug the smaller end of the cable into the top port of the PSP and plug the larger end into any of the PlayStation 3's USB ports.

      Press the center button of any controller synced to the console to turn on the PlayStation 3.

      Select "Remote Play Settings" from the "Settings" menu on the PlayStation 3 home menu.

      Highlight "Register Device" and press "X" on the PlayStation 3 controller.

      Power on your PSP.

      Select "Settings" on the PSP home menu, highlight "USB Connection" and press the "X" button.
