How to Copy a CD to a PS3

Along with the capability of playing Blu-ray, DVD and PlayStation 3 format discs, the PlayStation 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system is also able to play and copy the content of a music CD directly to the console's hard drive. After the content from the CD has been copied to the hard drive, it can be listened to again without needing the actual CD, much like if you'd copy a CD to your computer through Windows Media Player or Apple iTunes.

Instructions

  Press the "PlayStation" button on the center of your PS3 controller to power on the console and controller.

  Insert the CD you want to copy to your PS3 into your PS3's disc drive.

  Scroll to the "Music" section of the PS3's home menu using the left and right buttons on the controller's directional pad.

  Highlight the CD using the up and down buttons on the directional pad and press the triangle button.
- 5
  Select "Import" and press the "X" button. Your PS3 will then copy the content of the disc to your PS3's hard drive. This may take several minutes.
