How to Stream a Blu-ray to a PS3 With Nero 8

Nero 8 Ultra Edition comes packaged with the Nero MediaHome program that allows users to stream movie, music and picture files to the PS3 system. To stream movie files, users must simply connect their PS3 to the MediaHome server and select the movie file from the PS3 system's Cross Media Bar to begin viewing. For users that wish to stream a Blu-ray file to their PS3, this process can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

  Plug the PS3 and PC into the same modem or connect them to the same wireless access point to link them to the same network.

  Run the Nero MediaHome program on the PC.

  Click the "Shared Directories" option from the main application window. Locate the Blu-ray file you wish to stream to the PS3 system and click the "OK" button.

  Click the "Start Server" button on the application's main window. Leave the application running.

  Turn on the PS3 system. Navigate to the "Video" section of the Cross Media Bar and select "Nero MediaHome" from the menu.

  Press the "X" button on the Blu-ray file to begin streaming the file to the PS3 system.
