PS3 Keyboard Installation Instructions

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) supports both generic USB keyboards as well as the official PS3 Bluetooth Wireless Keypad. Either of these can be used to navigate around the PS3 XMB menu (the main menu) and to enter text when prompted by the onscreen keyboard. Note that not all games support keyboard input.

Instructions

  1. USB

    • 1

      Connect the USB keyboard to any of the USB ports on the front of the PS3.

      Turn on the PS3. Wait until the XMB menu loads.

      Use the directional arrows on the keyboard to maneuver around the menu and test its functionality.

    Bluetooth Wireless Keypad

      Turn on the PS3.

      Slide the "Power" switch on the Keypad to the "On" position.

    • 6

      Use the PS3 controller USB cable to connect the Keypad to the PS3. After a few seconds, the keypad will sync with the PS3. When prompted, disconnect the USB cable. You can now use the Keypad wirelessly.
