How to Save Videos on a Memory Stick With a PS3

The Playstation 3 game console is Sony's third entry into the home console video game market. The system allows users to play high definition games, watch movies and view photos using the system's various media applications. Some users, however, wish to place their movie files onto a Memory Stick Pro Duo so that they may watch them on their PSP handheld device. Luckily, saving video files onto a Memory Stick Pro Duo from your PS3 is an easy process that only requires a few simple steps.

Instructions

      Insert your Memory Stick Pro Duo into the memory stick slot on the side of your PSP console.

      Turn on your PSP and PS3 systems. Connect your PSP to your PS3 system using the PSP USB connection cable.

      Navigate to the "Settings" section on your PSP's Cross Media Bar. Select "USB Connection" to place your PSP into USB mode.

      Navigate to the "Video" section on your PS3's Cross Media Bar. Locate the video file that you wish to save to your Memory Stick Pro Duo and press the "Triangle" button. Select the "Move" or "Copy" option from the menu (whether the file can be copied or merely moved depends on the movie file type). Select your PSP from the menu and press the "X" button to begin the copying/moving process. Allow several minutes for this process to finish.

      Press the "Circle" button on your PSP to switch your PSP out of USB mode. Unplug your PSP from your PS3 console. The video file will now be saved to the Memory Stick Pro Duo inside of your PSP.
