How to Connect a PS3 to DSL

If you have ever wanted to use your PS3 to play games with others online, or watch streaming movies, connecting your PS3 to a DSL (digital subscriber line) will allow you to do that. You can also browse the Internet and watch live TV broadcasts. Connecting your PS3 to DSL will allow you to connect to the Internet without a computer.

Instructions

      Connect the Ethernet cable to the PS3.

      Select "Settings," then "Network settings" when the menu appears on the screen.

      Click "Yes" when the confirmation screen appears. This will disconnect the PS3 from the Internet.

      Select "Easy" from the pop-up screen. "Custom" is for more experienced users.

      Save the settings.

      Select "Test connection." The PS3 will try to connect to the Internet.

      Check the test results. Network information will be displayed if the connection was a success.
