How to Link a PS3 to a Samsung T220

The PlayStation 3 has three types of video output: HDMI, component and RCA. The Samsung T220 monitor, on the other hand, has DVI and analog RGB. Simply put, the PS3 doesn't output video on cable types the T220 has inputs for. If you want to output your PS3's video signal to your Samsung T220 monitor, you'll have to use a special type of cable, with an HDMI connector on one end and a DVI connector on the other.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the PS3 and monitor.

    • 2

Plug the HDMI end of the video cable into the HDMI port on the back of the PS3.

    • 3
      A DVI input jack.

Plug the DVI end of the cable into the DVI input on the T220 monitor.

    • 4

Turn on the monitor and PS3. The monitor should display video from the PS3 without any further configuration. However, since the DVI input doesn't accept sound signals, you should configure the PS3 to use its digital audio or AV Multi cables for audio output, and set up your speaker system accordingly.
