How to Play the PSP on a PS3 With Remote Play

Sony's PlayStation Portable can be connected to a PlayStation 3 through a feature called Remote Play. Remote Play allows the PSP system to wirelessly connect to the PS3 and share files and play games between the two systems. Registering your PSP to a PS3 system and activating Remote Play can be done in minutes.

Instructions

      Turn on the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 systems.

      Connect the Mini-B USB cable included with your PS3 system to the PS3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the PSP via the port at the top of the PSP system.

      Scroll to "Settings" on the PSP XMB (Cross-Media Bar) and select "USB Connection" to set the PSP to USB mode.

      Scroll to "Settings" on the PS3 XMB and select "Remote Play Settings."

      Select "Register Device."

      Select "OK." "Register Completed" will display to confirm a successful registration.

      Scroll to "PlayStation Network" on the PS3 XMB and select "Sign-in" to sign in to your PlayStation Network Account.

      Scroll to "Network" and select "Remote Play" on the PS3 XMB. The PS3 will wait to connect to a PSP.

      Scroll to "Network" and select "Remote Play" on the PSP XMB.

      Select "Connect via Internet" and select "OK" when the next message is displayed.

      Choose your network from the list of Wi-Fi networks listed on the PSP screen.

      Sign in to your PlayStation Network account on the PSP when prompted. It must be the same account you used to sign in on the PS3. The PS3 will display the message "Remote Play in Progress" indicating Remote Play has been successfully started.
