Grand Theft Auto IV Sixaxis Tutorial

In 2008, Rockstar released "Grand Theft Auto IV" on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game consoles. In the game, players explore the "sandbox" style world of Liberty City, completing missions and earning respect along the way. Players can do everything from stealing cars and robbing banks to watching TV and ordering fast food. Because of the openness of this game, however, the controls can become a bit overwhelming. Luckily, mastering the game's controls on the PS3 can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

Instructions

- 1
  Use the left and right analog sticks to navigate your character. Press the left stick in any direction to move your character or vehicle in that direction. Click in the left stick to crouch. Press the right stick in any direction to make your character look in that direction. Click in the left stick to look behind you.

  Use the D-Pad to navigate the in-game menus. Press left and right on the D-Pad to scroll through the weapons menu. Use these directions to change the radio station while in a vehicle. Press up and down on the D-Pad to scroll through the cell phone menu.

  Press the "Triangle" button to get in and out of cars, open doors, and perform any other "action" that keeps you on the ground. In melee mode, press the "Triangle" button to punch.

  Press the "Square" button to jump and climb ladders. Press "Square" to change your weapon while in a vehicle. In melee mode, press "Square" to counter.

  Press the "Circle" button to reload your weapon. Press "Circle" to enter cinematic mode while in a vehicle. In melee mode, press "Circle" to kick.

  Tap the "X" button to sprint. Hold it to run. When your phone rings, press "X" to answer it. Press "X" to use your handbrake while in a vehicle.

  Press the "L1" button to pick up an item. Press "L1" to fire your weapon while in a vehicle.

  Press the "L2" button to lock on to enemies. Press "L2" to use your brake and reverse while in a vehicle.

  Press the "R1" button to enter and exit cover. Press "R1" to use your handbrake while in a vehicle.

  Press the "R2" button to fire your weapon. Press "R2" to accelerate while in a vehicle.

  Press the "Start" button to pause the game.

  Press the "Select" button to change the camera angle.
